Hunters Mitt
Around our house we call these the “hunter’s mitt” or the “dog walker’s mitt.” The mitt was born out of my husband’s desire to have something to keep his hands warm while he takes the dogs out for a walk. While we enjoy the warmth of mittens, we miss the lack of dexterity while wearing them. On the flip side, fingerless gloves just leave our hands a bit too cold.
The design of this mitt balances the need for nimbleness and warmth. Provides quick access to bare fingers when extra dexterity is needed when working with tools, nuts, bolts, attaching a dog lead to a collar, etc. Gives instant warmth when pulled over entire hand. There is no need to take off the mitt to work with tools; simply slide the open end over your wrist when needed, and slide back over your hand for warmth. This design is perfect when using retractable dog leads.
You will receive 2 hand knit mitts, which were knit in Rowan Big Wool (100% Merino Wool) in color grey. The mitts are 7.5 inches long and 4 inches in diameter at finger end. The wrist cuff is knit in ribbing to allow stretching for various sizes. One size fits most. Hand wash in lukewarm water and dry flat (NO DRYER!!)
Hand knit wool eyelet cowl in hunter green (small)
Mom is at it again! She’s got the knitting bug and made another beautiful hand knit cowl.
The cowl is a dark hunter green with both ribbing and eyelets. This is a lightweight cowl that would not be too hot or bulky to wear all day. This cowl is made from wool, but it is soft and easy to wear, not itchy!
Diameter is 8 inches, but can be stretched to 10 inches. Height is 6.5 inches. Cowl weight is just under 50 grams.

Hand knit merino wool cowl with eyelets – in purple, salmon orange, with a little gray and a hint of olive green
My mother handmade this wonderful eyelet cowl using Malabrigo brand merino wool. The cowl was knit in the round and alternates rows of ribbing with rows of eyelets. The colors in this cowl are just beautiful with purples, salmon orange, and a little bit of of olive green and gray. The colors are sure to add some brightness to any gloomy winter day!
This handknit piece is warm without being over-the-top bulky. It can be worn with a jacket as shown in the picture, and is light enough to wear during the day while at work or school. This would make a lovely and thoughtful gift for family, friends, co-workers and those hard to buy for people!
Cowl measures 7.5 inches high and 8 inches in diameter (stretches to 11.5 inches in diameter). Total weight is just under 70 grams.

Hand knit alpaca wool scarf – pink, orange, peach, purple, brown
I hand knit this beautiful scarf in a simple seed stitch using 2 skeins of Misti Alpaca (baby) hand painted chunky yarn. The colors in this are so happy and bright. It is hard to list every color that shows up, but there are variations of orange, salmon, peach, pink, purple, mauve, and brown, to name a few.
This scarf would look beautiful with a black, cream, brown, or camel colored jacket.
If you’ve never experienced baby alpaca wool before, you are in for a treat. This doesn’t even feel like wool…the fibers are so soft and lightweight. It is so snuggly without being heavy around your neck.
I hand fringed both ends of the scarf using the same yarn, leaving the fringe a bit uneven for a playful look. If you prefer a straight edge, just let me know and I can even it out.
Scarf width is 5.5 inches. Length including fringe is 68 inches. Length without fringe is 59 inches.

Pink knit merino wool ruffle scarf button neckwarmer – handmade in Connecticut.
I hand knit this beautiful scarf/neckwarmer in a diagonal rib pattern using 100% merino wool bulky yarn. The scarf has a diagonal rib pattern, button closure, and a feminine ruffle edge. This scarf is super warm and fashionable!
This scarf goes with so many different colors, and would look great on an adult woman, teen, or pre-teen girl. Scarf can be buttoned closed or left open if you prefer.
Merino wool is wonderful; it is soft and not scratchy at all. I made this same scarf for my stepmother, who is always cold, and she couldn’t believe how warm it was!
Scarf width is 4.5 inches. Length is 32 inches.
Please note: we are soapmakers and often have a lot of fragrant scents around. Despite our best efforts, it is possible some of our knit goods may have picked up a scent. Most folks will probably find this to be an added bonus, but please keep this in mind if you are sensitive to scents!
