You say you use the ‘cold process method’ to make your soap. What does that mean?
The cold process method means that a combination of fats (such as olive oil, shea butter, cocoa butter to name a few) are combined with a sodium hydroxide solution resulting in saponification. It is called cold process because no additional heat is incorporated into the process once the fats and sodium hydroxide solutions are mixed together.
Why is hand-crafted soap better than commercial soap?
At Nutmeg Naturals, our hand-crafted soaps contain natural oils, many of which are food grade. Our products are not loaded with unpronounceable ingredients; just take a look at our ingredients, and you will know what is in your soap! Another benefit of hand-crafted soap is that the soap retains its natural glycerin. Glycerin attracts and retains moisture on your skin. Most commercial soap manufacturers actually remove glycerin from their soaps and sell it to other industries.
Where can I find your products?
Our products can be seen at retail locations:
In our online store
Our Etsy store.
We will also be featuring our soaps and other natural products at various craft shops and markets. To find out where we will be, you can follow us on Facebook or Twitter.
How should I care for my hand-crafted soap?
When you are not using it, you should store your soap in a dry place or in a slotted/draining soap dish. Your soap will last longer if you use a draining soap dish between uses.
